Letter to John Morrison (By @TheRandomTyrone)

I first became familiar with John Morrison in late 2008 during his appearances on Smackdown (That's all I got at the time), however it wasn't until January 2009 after watching the episode of The Dirt Sheet (The Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia one) that I started to consider myself as a fan of his. I promptly went through YouTube and downloaded each episode I could find and marked out over Miz and Morrison to the extent that anyone who would listen started to get a little annoyed about it.

Eventually, Miz and Morrison split as a team and, to my delight Morrison was drafted to Smackdown (Which was still the only show that I was able to watch) and had started putting on some of the best televised matches of that year against other favourites of mine such as Edge, Chris Jericho and CM Punk. It was around this time I started believing that Morrison could very well be a future World Heavyweight Champion and sure enough, he had a shot against Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship. However after that loss, he started slipping down the card but not before defeating Mysterio for the IC Championship in what is widely believed to be his best match of 2009 and by 2010, he was drafted to Raw (playing a major part in my decision to not get tickets to the Smackdown tour in my country) and relegated to being a midcard with no feud/direction.

Then came the victories over Chris Jericho and the falls count anywhere match against Sheamus that signaled the beginning of the Parkour style he uses to this day. Suddenly Morrison was back on the rise and stole the show at Survivor Series, TLC, Raw (Falls Count Anywhere vs The Miz) Royal Rumble, The Raw Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Extreme Rules.  Unfortunately, he was removed from WWE programming after a neck injury. At that point, my interest in WWE started dropping, even during the infamous CM Punk angle.

Morrison eventually returned in late July. I believed that it would be the start of Morrison's rise to the inevitable spot at the top, starting with a feud against R-Truth. This started fading away after he started jobbing to the likes of Christian, Truth, Del Rio, Rhodes and Mark Henry. At the same time, I started hearing rumors that John Morrison could be leaving, I shrugged them off at first but with each loss, my outlook became bleaker.

Now that it's all but confirmed that he is leaving. I'm not sure of where my future as a wrestling fan will take me, but the past two (Almost three) years have been one hell of a ride.

Respect.
