Letter to John Morrison (By Katelyn Leong)

Dear John Hennigan,

I know you’ll never see this, but I’m absolutely devastated that you lost at Survivor Series. That was supposed to be your moment to shine; the moment that you finally escalate from jobber status to the upper mid-card. That could have been the moment your push began.

But no, fuck the WWE. Fuck Vince McMahon. Fuck them all to hell for keeping a grudge against you because of your personal life, because Vince just doesn’t like you for the wrong reasons. But regardless of whatever happens after Survivor Series, whether you’ll resign or leave the company, I’ll always stand by you.

You were the sole reason why I chose to continue watching WWE, even as messed up as it is right now. Even as you fell from your spot as an upper-mid-carder and a future main eventer, I still continued to support you. Fuck the haters who hopped onto the bandwagon, just because you were demoted to jobber status. They, like Vince, are judging you for the wrong reasons. Maybe I should be happy because I can no longer watch you being punished week after week, but I should be even more upset because you may never have the chance to prove the bandwagon folks wrong. If not in the WWE, there’s always somewhere else to shine.

It breaks my heart right now to see you possibly leaving the WWE. I’m in tears as I write this letter to you, a letter that you’ll never get at all. Even today, even after watching you lose what could be your last match, I still stand by your side. I still root for you even as I watch you job to the likes of Wade Barrett and Mark Henry week after week. I’m appalled at the backlash the WWE Universe has decided to put on you, simply because you’re on the verge of being released. That match at Survivor Series, what could be your last match, was phenomenal. Though you were scripted to be on the losing end, I still thought it was the best match you could have performed for us one last time. All I ask of you, John, is that you do what you love to do, whether it be in the WWE or somewhere else. Regardless of which, I will always support you, I will commend you for the workhorse that you are, the spectacular performer you are, and the cool, laid-back guy you are in real life.

You may not know me personally, John Hennigan, but I just want to let you know that I will stay faithful as a fan, even as your WWE days could come to an end.

Sincerely, from a faithful fan,

Katelyn Leong, 17, from Singapore
